PROJECT: CARRWOOD // INTEGRATOR: ATELIER LUUXX

Brief

Carrwood is an 8,000 sq ft luxury residence in the North of England, designed with a clear vision, to seamlessly blend advanced building technology with exceptional interior design. Working alongside My KNX, Atelier Luuxx delivered a fully integrated smart home solution that unifies key building systems while maintaining a simple and intuitive user experience throughout the property.

The project demonstrates how a modern building automation platform can be deployed at scale within a high-end residential environment, enhancing comfort, convenience and future adaptability without compromising aesthetics.

Solution

With a project scope encompassing 150 dimmed lighting circuits, zoned underfloor heating, air conditioning, automated curtains, gate and garage control, security systems and alarm monitoring, a KNX-based infrastructure was selected as the foundation of the installation. It’s decentralised infrastructure enabled all building services to be brought together within a single, reliable control platform.

Preserving the integrity of the interior design was a key consideration. Every technological element introduced needed to complement the home's architectural / interior vision and maintain consistency across all living spaces. Ekinex’s 20-Venti and Signum keypads were chosen for their refined appearance and intuitive operation, delivering a cohesive control experience while integrating seamlessly into the interior scheme.

The flexibility and interoperability of the KNX ecosystem also enabled straightforward integration with Control4, bringing together building automation and audio-visual systems within a unified environment. This approach provides dependable day-to-day operation while ensuring the system can evolve alongside the homeowner's future requirements.
