PROJECT: GROVE STREET // INTEGRATOR: IDES
Brief
IDES was originally approached by the homeowner regarding installation of a Sky TV system but when the homeowners learned about how IDES could further enhance their home discussions progressed.
Due to the styling of the Victorian property, seamless integration of modern technology was essential and various installation aspects / restraints had to be carefully navigated. The homeowner was also planning on selling the property within a few years so wanted to ensure a robust high-tech system was in place that would be reliable for years to come.
Project requirements included a user-friendly control platform with lighting, security, door entry, internet access and AV control included.
Solution
To provide a stable system infrastructure IDES’s go to control system, KNX, was again selected on this project. Due to the limitations of free space within the property, the KNX lighting control devices were spilt across two panel locations highlighting the installation flexibility of the KNX platform.
For control keypads, the client was very impressed by the ABB KNX Taceto controller, a new addition to ABB’s portfolio at the time of the project, which was installed throughout.

Result
This project once again highlights IDES’s strength of seamlessly combining modern technology and features within a traditional property.
