PROJECT: KNX SMART HOME // INTEGRATOR: FUNCTION CONTROL

Brief

Function Control were appointed to oversee the full design, specification and programming of this high-specification luxury self-build smart home in West Central Scotland. The clients were existing customers and wanted to have a future proof smart home system and asked the Function Control team to help specify and design the whole home system. Control elements included lighting (with presence detection), zoned underfloor heating, blinds, electronic windows, MVHR, fire alarm interface, AV, whole home wifi, gate intercom and remote access / support.

A full lighting design was also required to provide a tailored approach in all areas.

Solution

The main control backbone of the system is KNX with Control4 overseeing the AV elements.

KNX was been selected for the control ‘core building’ elements as it provided an unapparelled level of product, could easily cater for all system requirements and offered a robust system infrastructure. Function Control specified three separate lighting & blind control panels along with four underfloor manifold controllers.

To suit the property design customised Gira Pushbutton Sensor 3 keypads were chosen to provide multifunctional control and recall tailored scenes.
