PROJECT: PRIVATE SWIMMING POOL // INTEGRATOR: FUNCTION CONTROL

Brief

For this swimming pool extension within a private Edinburgh residence the client required a simple and stylish interface in this lighting design.

Solution

Function Control applied a KNX and DMX lighting solution to fulfil all functional requirements. Gira’s popular KNX Pushbutton Sensor 3 keypad in a E22 flat configuration was deployed for a slim design profile with bespoke button inscriptions to provide lighting scene recall in the pool area, outside decking area and changing room. Keypad commands also included colour-change, either at pre-set levels or via a full rainbow of colours until the desired hue is found.

LED light sources were used throughout for energy efficiency and longevity ensuring compatibility with a swimming pool environment. Custom pool cover controls were specified from the Gira E22 range to complement the light switches.

The KNX infrastructure has also been extended into the existing house to provide an easy method for future expansion of the system to take in garden lighting or upgrades to lighting or heating control in the rest of the house.
