The security of any home automation system will always be at the forefront of the end-users demands. With the continuous developments in system security and device encryption KNX are leading by example in the home automation and building control sector.
This is again evident with the launch of the KNX IP Interface 732 Secure and KNX IP Router 752 Secure at the ISE 2019 in February, with both being available at My KNX Store in Q1 2019. After the introduction of one of the first KNX devices supporting KNX Data Security at Light + Building Show 2018, Weinzierl Engineering introduces two compact devices supporting KNX IP Security. The KNX IP Interface 732 Secure and the KNX IP Router 752 Secure are both powered by the KNX bus and are the smallest KNX devices on the market supporting KNX IP Security.
Secure interface: KNX IP Interface 732 Secure:
The KNX IP Interface 732 Secure serves as a secure interface between a LAN (IP, Ethernet) and KNX and can be used as a programming interface for the ETS®. As a KNX Secure Interface (tunneling), the device prevents unauthorized access to the system. The connection between PC and interface is encrypted. The security option can be activated or deactivated in the ETS.
With the KNX IP Interface 732 secure, the KNX bus can be accessed from any point in the LAN. Encryption also enables secure programming over the Internet.
Secure routing: KNX IP Router 752 Secure:
The KNX IP Router 752 Secure enables the secure forwarding (routing) of telegrams between different lines over a LAN (IP, Ethernet) as a fast backbone. As a secure router, the device enables the connection of unsecured communications on a KNX TP line with a secure IP backbone. The KNX IP Router 752 secure has an extended filter table for main group 0..31 and can cache up to 150 telegrams.
The device also serves as a secure interface between IP (Ethernet) and KNX and can be used as a programming interface for the ETS®. As a KNX Secure Interface (tunneling), the device prevents unauthorized access to the system. The connection between PC and interface is encrypted.
With the KNX IP Router 752 Secure, the KNX bus can be accessed from any point in the LAN. Encryption also enables secure programming over the Internet. The security option can be activated or deactivated in the ETS.
Product specifications, prices and availability will be upload to our My KNX Store stock line following Weinzierl’s official launch at the beginning of February.
